Clarifique oil free lotion

My 14 year old daughter suffers terribly from oily skin. It doesn't have to be "that time of the month" or a big makeup usage month. Her skin is just oily.

This picture is after a couple days of Clarifique lotion. It keeps your skin from drying out but since it is oil free, it doesn't not clog the pours to make blemishes.

If you don't believe me, try it for yourself or check out all the wonderful reviews it has on Amazon.

You can purchase this 2oz bottle off Amazon for $21

Contains Kojic acid, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Glycolic Acid

Do you have acne scars? This also will help to lighten those scars. Helps to make your face look smooth again. No more hiding behind make-up. Show off your beautiful face again.

You will notice a increased clearness within the first couple days. A little dot goes a lot farther than you think. Just put a dot on your hand, rub your hands gently together and smooth over your face. You skin will feel so soft and fresh.

I know that my daughter is much happier now. Why not make yourself happy too?

Wash or Toss™ Feeding Utensils

I am a Wash or Toss type of mom. With 6 kids, I need "easy clean", "grab and go" and definitely "if lost I won't panic", type items. Nuby had great ideas when coming up with this line of products.

Each Wash or Toss item is sturdy enough for daily use but also not made of gold. (which you wouldn't want to lose)

The colors are so fun. Very bright. Both boys and girls will love this set. Moms will love how easy it is to just toss in your purse or diaper bag. Easy to clean. Either toss in the dishwasher or use a wipie. Very handy.

We love these. With us always on the run, it's nice to be able to toss her spoon or fork in the bag and go. While eating out there isn't a way for her to stab herself like if she was using metal.

Each set comes with 4 colors. In each of the 4 colors are 2 forks and 2 spoons.

This 16 piece Wash or Toss can be purchased at Meijer

Nuby Clik- it™ No-Spill™ Designer Series Flip-it Review

This is definitely her favorite cup yet! The silicone "straw" is a perfect thing to chew on while waiting to take a drink. The flip it straw top is great for making sure the straw doesn't come in contact with any germs. Sippy cups get dropped all the time. The nasty thing is that when dropped, the part that goes in your child's mouth, is the part that usually hits the ground. You have no idea what has touched that spot....I am not an overly germ conscious person. She is child number 6, but still would like to keep her from as many germs as I can.

I love all the designs that this cup comes in. So many to choose from. Boy or girl, just pick your color and design!

If you are a mom like me, once you find the perfect sippy cup or binkie for your child, you buy 1 of each color. This cup is going to be on that list.

Very easy to clean. Either use the Nuby bottle brush or toss in the dishwashers top rack. We have found that a simple pipe cleaner is the perfect way to clean straws of any kind.

Straw runs down the base of the cup encouraging your child to hold the cup upright while drinking Most little kids are so used to tilting the cup and their heads to get a drink. In order to drink out of a regular drinking glass you must stay upright. This cup is good practice for them.

You can purchase this cup from Walmart. I believe it was under $5.

If you are looking for a great cup...I recommend this one for your child over age 2.

Nuby Wash and Toss Sippy Cups Review

I am a very frugal mom. I try to buy the most economical choice for what I buy. Sippy cups are no exclusion. There are so many to choose from. When you walk into any store and go to the sippy cup isle it can make you dizzy. There are Disney, Evenflo, Gerber and more.

I don't only choose Nuby because I do reviews for them. I choose Nuby due to their being safe for your child. The designs are bright, kids love them and the price is right for any budget.

This 3pk came just in time. We are constantly on the go. When we leave and need to take a cup with us, I try to grab the least inexpensive ones so that if we lose it, I'm not going to panic. These are great for that.

Each cup and lid can be interchanged. A lot of the lids, I have found, can be use on other cups. We love the bright, lasting colors. Top dishwasher safe. We usually just use hot water and the Nuby bottle brush.

The only thing you need to watch is that our daughter is a chewer. It comes with her sensory issues. So keep am eye on your child if they like to chew.

The lid is easy enough for you to take on and off but not for your child. You can also use the cute cup without the lid. That would be great for an older child.

You can purchase these cups from Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Kmart and Babiesrus.com

Usually somewhere around $5 for the 3pk

Aquasana Filter Water Bottle

Listen up parents....imagine being able to filter water right inside your very own water bottle wherever you are. Yes, that means a public water fountain, the airport, theme parks that charge an arm and a leg for bottled water and while traveling to other countries where filtered water can cost as much as a meal, etc… Pretty soon you won’t have to imagine that if Aquasana’s Kickstarter Campaign goes well. The water filtration company is in the process of bringing to market a reusable glass water bottle with a filter right inside. Having clean, healthy water at your fingertips for on-the-go hydration is just a matter of months away (if funded.)

I think it looks like something we would love to have. Keeping my kids safe from harmful germs is a full time job.

Why Did We Have to Say Goodbye? Valerie’s Story

Heart Wrenching Story Encourages Children to Recognize and Report Risk

A little girl remembers her two-year-old brother, killed at the hands of their birth father, and helps readers realize that others share their pain

The facts are grim. Every ten seconds, a child abuse report is filed. Every year, more than a thousand lives are lost as the result of child abuse. By extension, many thousands more are forever changed.

The newly published book "Why Did We Have to Say Goodbye? Valerie’s Story," illustrates the impact of loss through one young girl’s words and experiences as she grieves the death of her "Baby Maxwell."

Written in verse by Gwenn Eyer, Valerie’s adoptive mother, this beautifully illustrated book relays a story of love, loss, and hope. Valerie was just four years old when her baby brother died at the hands of their birth father. Valerie’s story describes her sad, scared, and angry feelings and traces her journey from her sudden removal from her home and the loss of everything she knew to her placement in foster care to her eventual adoption.

Eyer explains that "Why Did We Have to Say Goodbye? Valerie’s Story" offers a message to be shared with children and families who have been impacted by child abuse and loss. Traumatized children will identify with Valerie, and adult readers will benefit from viewing the impact of child abuse and domestic violence through a child’s eyes.

Eyer comments, "If allegations of child abuse are made every ten seconds, how many more incidents go unreported? This book, written in our adopted daughter’s words with childlike illustrations, provides encouragement for children to recognize risk and report it." She adds, "The book can be used at home and in therapeutic settings. It is my hope that it can serve as a ‘wake up call’ for families currently at risk."

"The artwork is amazing and the questions posed by one little girl give voice to the confusion and pain of many children." ~ Kimberly A. Mann, Ph.D., L.C.S.W.

Author: Gwenn Eyer is the mother of five adopted children ranging in age from eleven to forty. Valerie, her youngest daughter, came into the family following the death of her younger brother Maxwell at the hands of their birth father. Valerie shared her heartache with her "new" mom, writing journal entries and songs for her brother Maxwell along the way. Gwenn used Valerie’s words and experiences as the basis for Valerie’s adoption Lifebook, a tool used in adoption to help children and youth take experiences and connections from their past to build on with hope for the future. This Lifebook became "Why Did We Have to Say Goodbye? Valerie’s Story." Gwenn has worked in the child welfare field for more than twenty-five years, spending much of that time training foster and adoptive parents and other trainers. An experienced conference presenter, she enjoys writing prose and plans to share more stories about children who have experienced life in foster care and in adoptive families.
