Happy Saturday!

How is everyone doing this fine Saturday? What are your plans for the weekend? This morning I got up and went through all the Christmas gifts. I am almost done shopping! I have only a couple stocking stuffers and a few piddly gifts to buy. I love being done shopping before Thanksgiving it keeps the holidays semi-stress free. I usually buy all year. I buy clearance and special deals. I also keep a full bucket of items that the kids can go look through when they come home with birthday invitations. If makes those last minute trips to the store a thing of the past. I just say "ok hun go get a gift out of the bucket". There is only one downfall to buying all year round is if you buy clothes. Sometimes you get ready to give the gift and the child has grown...A couple easy ways to build your "gift bucket", as we call it, is when the kids bring home the Scholastic book forms they always have $1 books. I try to always pick the $1 ones and throw it in the bucket. After every holiday Walmart has clearance and if you wait long enough you can get things like Super hero toys for $1. If you shop at Kmart and have a rewards card, you get points for every purchase. I get free items all the time because of this card. I have already this year got over $50 in free items. It is fun to be able to go to the store put the things you want in the cart and then just have them scan your card and off you go without exchanging any $. Lots of stores have rewards cards. Check them all out. We have also seen 8 free movies in the last year. Every time you spend $100 at AMC with your movie watchers card you get a free movie. I have 2 teens who go all the time. I send the kids with my card and they put all their friends tickets and concessions on it, and I get the rewards lol Yes that is cheating a little but I figure that I had to get out and drive them and then pick them up :) There are soo many ways out there to get free items or great deals.
