Inspired Baby Names From Around The World Book Review

With all the hype from the Royal family finally naming their daughter to movie stars and their unique baby names, it's a lot of work coming up with a name. Each child will be stuck with that name for the rest of their lives.

My husband and I took months to come up with names for our children. I do not like my name, never have. For awhile, in high school I went by my middle name. I loved that. We knew that a name is very important.

So many ways to help you come up with a name. Asking friends and family. Hearing a name in a store, that just catches your fancy. Your favorite movie star. Any of those way are great. But when all else fails....turn to a book.

I loved looking through baby name books. I was able to find the meaning of the name. So many variations of each name. We have 6 children and only 1 is spelled the "normal" way. But his name isn't one you hear everyday so I was ok with it.

We loved the name Marissa but my mother in law kept telling us she was going to call her Mary. So I came up with a way that she could not. Our oldest daughter is Myrissa. In no way can you get Mary out of it. We do not shorten our kids names.

This book says Marisa means beloved, love, seas mistress, bitter sea, rebellious, well, nourished, healthy, myrrh, of the sea. It also shows that it is the Spanish and Italian form of Maria.
