Jesus Calling Devotional Book for Adults and Children

Image
I like my devotions to have the scripture printed out for me. I guess I'm a lazy devotion reader. I lost my Bible in one of our moves and haven't replaced it yet. With this set, we had to look up the verse that goes with the devotional. Sarah Young, the author, did a great job in the smoothness of her writing.  The devotions are easy to read and the pictures in the children's book are cute. I love that she made parent and children's books. Helps teach your child the importance of time with God. You can purchase both of these from amazon The adult version is $8.43 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1591451884?keywords=jesus%20calling%20by%20sarah%20young&qid=1450544495&ref_=sr_1_1&s=books&sr=1-1 The children's version is $8.89 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1400316340?keywords=jesus%20calling%20by%20sarah%20young&qid=1450544495&ref_=sr_1_6&s=books&sr=1-6 Check out all their other great books at https://www.facebook.

Disney Sofia the First Arts and Crafts Bundle

Image
Sofia the First is all the rage right now with the little girls. Between the cartoon, the toys and the party supplies she is a very popular character. Sofia was just a village girl until her mother married the king. She still in friends with her village friends. Her step sister isn't too thrilled with that. She is also very jealous of Sofia. Such a cute little show. This pack has 4 fun things for your child. A paint book with some paints and brush, a candy bracelet, a lollipop and a sticker set. Our little one loves stickers. She loves to take them off the paper and stick and restick them to items. The stickers seem to hold up very well to this torture. The paint book is so cute and super fun. Personalized Adult Coloring Book by Put Me In The Story

Image
I am all about the unique items this year. I'm not sure if you have noticed this with all the reviews I have done. I love to color so this was the perfect product for me. I have colored since I was really little. It is so relaxing to just sit and put that crayon or colored pencil to the page. Have you tried it, as an adult? My family all knows how relaxing it is for me. My aunt, for my 16 or 18th birthday, sent me a large Crayola caddy. It was like bliss in a box. However, until recently, all you could find to color were the children's character books. I have colored a bunch of My Little Pony's and Littlest Pet Shop over the years. It is nice that they have started the adult coloring book craze. What do you get for the person on your list that has everything? Why not pick this unique gift. This is so neat. The front cover has your name on it. For me, it said "Tracee Keep Calm and Color On". The peaches and blues on the front are so calming. I think the

Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish- A Daily Devotional for Adoptive and Birth Parents

Image
I love my devotionals. I have 3, at this moment. I vary as to which one I will read and when. I was so excited to fin out that they have one just for me! Well, all adoptive and birth parents. Sherrie Eldridge, the author, is and internationally recognized adoption speaker. She has authored more than 5 books about adoption. Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parent Knew. She was adopted herself and understands that perspective. 1 of her grandchildren joined their family through adoption. We got our little girl when she was 3 weeks old. However, her adoption was not finalized till she was 2. She is still young and it makes me very nervous for the day that we have to tell her the story of her beginning. We knew her biological mom, so lots of the not knowing, does not count for her. But, we did not know the biological dad. It is definitely a different thing for our family. She has never not been a part of it though. We have such a strange story. If you are looking

A Very Merry Christmas Prayer

Image
We try to teach our kids to be thankful for everything and anything. This is such a thankless world. A Very Merry Christmas Prayer is just that. It starts out with "Here's My Merry Christmas Prayer" Each page is different things to pray and thank God for. Such cute pictures. Although the pages made me cold, they all have snow on them. Brrrr This 24 page board book is unique in design. The front cover is a bunch of winter dressed animals who are putting up the tree. The right side of the book is cut to look like the side of the tree. So unique. Our little girl loves to rub the design. It is wonderful to teach our children about all the things that God has done. Christmas isn't just about gifts, it's about the birth of Jesus. Enjoy the Wonder of Christmas With A Thankful Heart You can purchase this book from Amazon for $7.06 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0718030532?keywords=a%20very%20merry%20christmas%20prayer&pebp=1448028912885&peri

Children have very short attention spans. This book is 4 short stories that would help you be able to keep their attention. Each story has a lesson. You as parents, aunts, grandmas, we are responsible to teach our children life's lessons. The Bible has parables for us and this book has parables that children are going to understand. This would make a great Christmas gift! This hardback book is great for boys and girls ages 5-10. If you church has a library this would be a great addition. I Prayed For You by Jean Fischer

Image
My husband and I had the hardest time in trying to have children. I prayed every night that God would allow me to have a child. I wanted 6 little angels to love and hug. Throughout 8 miscarriages, I carried the prayer for those 6 children. After I almost died having child #5, I had to get fixed. My heart was broken. I desperately wanted 6. After years and years of praying for the 6th child, God answered my prayer with the adoption on our youngest angel. As Moms and Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas, we pray for these children's safety everyday. We pray that they don't get hurt. We pray that no one picks on them. We pray that they are safe and wear seatbelts (when they learn to drive). We can not be with our children 24 hours a day. God can! So we pray that He will go with them and keep them safe. This little cardboard book shows children that they are prayed for. Follow Momma bear and her cub through their days. I love this book due to it could be a great one for adopted ch

Pumpkinheads Book Series for Kids

Image
The 1st book, that I received, was Peanut's Mistake by Karen Kilpatrick This specific Pumpkinheads adventure is with Peanut the dog and Carmin. Peanut knows not to run in the house and yet he does. He gets so excited running after a ball that he knocks the shelf over and breaks a vase. He gets so upset that he runs off and hides. Carmin comes through and doesn't see the mess. She walks through and trips over the mess, she then gets it all over her dress. She is very upset and gets ready to go and scold Peanut. Trying to find him is difficult until she sees his dirty paw prints. She follows them all the way to under the bed. After he comes out Carmin shows him that everyone makes mistakes and she still loves him. They clean up the mess, together. The last couple pages are questions " What do you do when you make a messy mistake"? Different kids have different answers but Carmin and Peanut say "We clean it up"! Everyone makes mistakes. So what can

Tommy Nelson has some pretty awesome books for Children. All are faith based and help children to see the love that God has for them. These books are a great way to start your child's Christian walk. Grandma Kisses is such a cute book full of rhyming pages and pictures of all sorts of different animals. Each page is a new animal grandma with her matching grandbaby. My children have 3 grandmas. All 3 are different and unique. Each one of them does different things with them. It is their special love. One of the grandma's take 1 kid out every other month to eat with her. My mom doesn't get to see the kids as often since she lives out of state. But when she does, she loves to cuddle them and read to them. The childrens other grandma doesn't really get seen. She visits about once a year. They do love when she comes though. I can't wait till my mom comes in a couple weeks. She is going to love this book! I know, as a new grandma, I love this little book. My grandbaby l

Put Me In The Story- Adoption Book Review

I can not even express in this review what a neat book this is....I cried through typing in all the information on their site. The front of the book, in itself, is perfect! My cover says " I Wished For You, Alivia" and adoption story Underneath a picture of a Mommy bear and a little bear it says "Made Special For Alivia" " Made Special By Mom" So super special and a book that she can have forever. The cover is made in hard back and the pages are regular heavy duty paper. In our story, I couldn't have any more kids. I always dreamt of having 6 kids. I had to beg my husband to let me have #5 as I didn't not have good pregnancies. We had 4 miscarriages before we even had kids and then 4 more intermingled between the kids. My body hates pregnancy. Well, my husband gave into be have #5. It was the roughest pregnancy I had and he came a month early. He was perfect though. I don't think he got the preemie memo...But me on the other hand almo

Count My Blessings 123

Image
Every night my youngest daughter says her prayers with Daddy. She goes through the list of all her siblings and her niece. This book shows little ones how to say thanks. There is a page that says "Thank you, as I get dressed, for which sweater would be best"! I love that it shows children to be thankful for even the clothes that they wear. Hopefully, we as parents, have taught this to our children. God gives us so much to be thankful for, everyday. Each of these pages has a 3D page on the left, that fits into the "indention" on the other page. With our youngest being sensory seeking, this is perfect for her. She gets to feel the pages not just read them. As you can see from the pic she loves this book! Tommy Nelson provides us a way, in books, to show our children about God's love. You can purchase this cute little board book for $7.06 from Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Count-Blessings-1-2-3-Thomas-Nelson/dp/0718037871/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1

Adult Coloring Books

Image
I always thought that I was alone in the whole "I still love to color" world. I am totally wrong. In 2013 coloring books topped bestselling charts. They sold more than 1.5 million copies in over 22 languages. 5 of the top 30 titles on the bestseller list were coloring books for adults. For my 18th birthday, my aunt sent me a coloring book and a Crayola caddy filled with crayons. I was ecstatic! I love a new box of Crayola crayons or a brand new package of colored pencils. Don't get me wrong, I can't draw anything, but love to sit down and just color. Looking at the page with just a simple drawing and imagining what it would look like when I get done with it. All the different colors to choose from. Skyhorse Publishing's first 4 adult coloring books sold out of 4 printings. Unlike most coloring books, Skyhorse's books have 16 pages of full color inspirational pages. Each of the coloring pages are perforated. This allowing budding artists to photocopy an

I Love You Even When Book Review

Image
I have gotten to write reviews on quite a few kids books. I love how most of the books have such cute animals and other graphics. I know that my kids have loved these books. They have brought about some interesting conversations. Another book written by this lady is I Love You All The Same. We have 1 adopted daughter and even though we do not treat her any different nor does she get treated like she is different, this might be good for when she is old enough to understand. We have lots of friends that are foster parents and or adoptive parents. Each child understands things differently. This book shows that no matter what....blonde, red headed, skinny, chunky, tall, short, white, black or purple, you are all the same. God loves you no matter what! Also "God loves you even when you both are quite the sticky mess". 1 of the little bears smears honey on one of the other bears. That is a good lesson on the love of God and of your parents. Just because we ground you or discipli

Early Readers Bible Book Review

Image
The cover is my favorite part. When you hold it one way the kids heads are looking one way and then when you hold it the other way the kids are looking another way. This is the NKJV, New King James Version. Inside the front pages there is a How To Be Saved page which points out the "Roman Road" and more on how to become a Christian. Then the next page is a decision record. The next page is the Certificate of Baptism. Then a page for your favorite Bible verses and church events. Inside there is a One Year Plan to read the Bible in a year. This a great one to get your child used to studying the Bible. I can't believe how many neat items this Bible comes with. What is the Bible? Who wrote the Bible? How to study the Bible. Being that Bibles are usually daunting to children due to the amount of pages and no pictures, they don't read them. But This Early Reader Bible is the perfect one for your child ages 7-12. This book has pictures. Give your child, or an

Inspired Baby Names From Around The World Book Review

Image
With all the hype from the Royal family finally naming their daughter to movie stars and their unique baby names, it's a lot of work coming up with a name. Each child will be stuck with that name for the rest of their lives. My husband and I took months to come up with names for our children. I do not like my name, never have. For awhile, in high school I went by my middle name. I loved that. We knew that a name is very important. So many ways to help you come up with a name. Asking friends and family. Hearing a name in a store, that just catches your fancy. Your favorite movie star. Any of those way are great. But when all else fails....turn to a book. I loved looking through baby name books. I was able to find the meaning of the name. So many variations of each name. We have 6 children and only 1 is spelled the "normal" way. But his name isn't one you hear everyday so I was ok with it. We loved the name Marissa but my mother in law kept telling us she was

God Bless My Boo Boo Book Review

Image
This book is so adorable! The last 3 books that I have reviewed have has so super cute animal families. My kids have had their share of boo boo's. Between cuts, scrapes, stitches, staples and surgeries. Every time we pray over their boo boo's, BIG or small. My kids have prayers said over them so much that when I have a migraine or am sick, 1 or more of the kids will come up and ask if they can pray for me. Thank you God for blessing and healing our boo boo's. The rhymes were my youngest favorite part. I read it to her in the sing song way. She just kept smiling and smiling! Clear and beautiful illustrations to add to the book You can purchase this book from Amazon.com for $7.79 http://www.amazon.com/God-Bless-My-Boo/dp/0718030516/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1430511084&sr=1-1&keywords=god+bless+my+boo+boo You can check out Tommy Nelson website and social media accounts at: Check out all their other great books at https://www.facebook.c
