When you step on the scale barefoot this is a good thing! No one wants a stinky scale or one that gets all weird look from the grease on your feet. To clean the scale, use a damp cloth. Do not soak or submerge the scale in water or liquids. Don't expose the scale to moisture. It will void the warranty. Ozeri was a great company to work with.
