Man Stuff Devotional Review and Giveaway

Image
Men's devotionals seem harder to find than women's. I wonder why that is? Men need that extra time with God too. Tommy Nelson has over 200 devo's for men! I went looking and was amazed at the amount. If you are looking for a good devotional for your husband this would be a great one for you. Follow along with Josh Turner on this manly Christian journey! My husband feels like if a book touches his hand he will start on fire. With that said I gave this book to a friend of ours, who is a children's pastor, to review for me. Mathew loved the book. He said this was an easy read and really got you thinking and into the Word. As a Father of 8 it was truly a blessed time to be able to sit and read and really connect. Most men go to work, come home, have dinner and go to bed. In between work and children and life they have to try to have an intimate relationship with God also. Not an easy task in this majorly busy world. Being the Father of 8, being children's pastor a

God's Love in my Heart by Nadine Wickenden

Image
My 10 year old daughter loves this book. My favorite comment that she had to say about it was "awe look at the cute mountains, mom aren't they cute mountains"? The graphics in the book are very cute. God's Love In My Heart is a nice sturdy board book. Each page is sturdy enough to withstand little kids and the rough way that they turn pages. Follow Big and Boo, 2 very feisty bunnies. You follow them on their journey back home and how they notice how big God's love is. My favorite about most of the board books I do reviews on is that they rhyme! Kids love repetition and rhymes. I could read this over and over to the kids. You can purchase this board book for $9.99 from Thomas Nelson.com http://www.thomasnelson.com/god-s-love-in-my-heart Check out Tommy Nelson/Thomas Nelson social sites https://www.facebook.com/thomasnelsonfan https://twitter.com/ThomasNelson a Rafflecopter giveaway

Lots & Lots of Fire Trucks 2 DVD Set and BOOK with Audio CD Review

Image
Our 7 year old absolutely loves trucks of all kinds. He loves Fire trucks, dump trucks, monster cars and more. If it looks rough and tough, he loves it! The fire trucks on this video kept him enthralled. I didn't hear a peep out of him the whole time. Although his facial expressions were great! The audio cd was a fun, added bonus. This company doesn't just have the books and dvds on fire trucks. They even had a whole set on penguins. My 10 year old daughter keeps begging me for that specific set. She loves anything penguins. These sets are great for learning. If you home school these would be great for a science or history class. So much to watch and learn. Here is what we got to review: "> Vol. 1 - "BRAVE HEROES AND BIG RIGS!" If you love fire trucks, get ready for the most exciting collection of non-stop fire truck and firefighting action you'll ever see! From giant hook n' ladders to spectacular super soakers, you'll see the bigg

Peas And Hambone Versus Flesh-Eating Zombie Gorillas (Volume 1) Review

Image
Ok so before I tell you my review I have to say that Todd Nichols (author) have a very active imagination. Our house has always been lovers of the exotic and the science fiction movies and books. Peas and Hambone made a great read for my 13 year old daughter and 16 year old son. Both love Walking Dead so this was right up their alley. Peas is a 10 year old boy with a talking dog. When others aren't looking Hambone can walk and talk like a person. Together they must "battle" against the crazy Doctor Gorilla. Doctor Gorilla has made a potion that turns regular gorillas into zombie flesh eating gorillas. I have to stop here and chuckle. I can just picture zombie gorillas running down my street. Do Peas and Hambone defeat the evil Doctor Gorilla?? You will just have to read and find out. Todd Nichols earned his bachelor’s degree in cardiopulmonary science in 1993 from Northeastern University, where he also later received his master’s degree in education. The only t

So Not Okay Book Review and Giveaway

Image
So Not Okay by Nancy Rue This book takes place, at Gold Country Middle School, in Grass Valley, California. Mr. V, the Science teacher, assigns his class to think up a question about the human mind or body. The answer to the question needs to be unknown, you and your group had to figure out the answer to your question. Victoria Taylor, who goes by Tori, creates a group of four other girls in the class. Her, Ophelia Smith, Winnie George, and Mitch make up the group. The new girl Virginia Hollingberry, who goes by Ginger, gets invited by Tori to be in their group. Ophelia doesn't like that Tori invited her without the group's permission, because Ginger is getting bullied by a group of girls that tori calls, "The Pack". Soon the girls come up with the question; Why are boys and girls mean? Is it natural or learned? Because of the way and amount of time Ginger hangs out with Tori, "The Pack" has started bullying Tori as well. Soon her entire group, they call

I Love You All The Same Review and Giveaway

Image
As we have 6 kids this was a perfect book. Just because you have 5 other siblings does not mean you are all the same. This book is a family of 3 bear cubs. Not one of them is the same. They don't look alike or act alike. The bear cubs even eat different things. I think this would have made a great book for foster and adoptive families. We got lucky because the tiny human we are adopting looks just like our other children. But this would be great for them. The pages all are also in rhyme. Most little ones like that. No wonder Dr. Seuss is so popular. Features & Benefits: •A perfect way for parents to tell their children how much they love each of them •Great purchase for parents and grandparents looking for ways to show siblings how they are each special and unique •Good resource to prepare big brothers and sisters for new members (and personalities!) coming into the family •Adorable art from Alison Edgson makes this a great purchase for a baby shower, a gift for a new

Whaley's Big Adventure by Alexander Luke

Image
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. This book is written by 5 year old Alexander Luke and presented by his award winning grandmother Carole P. Roman. I thought this was such a cute book. This little guy had his own drawings on each page. Each page had a neat fact on all kids of whales. I learned some new things myself by reading this book. As a mom I was amazed at this 5 year olds creative thinking. This young man should be proud of his accomplishment as should his grandmother. It was a lot of fun reading this book, knowing that a child wrote it. I will definitely be sharing this with my 6 children. I look forward to seeing more work as his imagination and creativity matures with age. The Story of Jesus Board Book Review

Image
THE STORY OF JESUS by Fiona Boon So many times children get lost in trying to teach them the story of Jesus. This book explains it and shares it in their words. "Jesus taught the people with wise words and deeds. He fed those who were hungry and helped anyone in need. He had the power to heal those who could not walk. He made blind men see and helped the mute to talk" The pictures to go with this part of the story are so cute! There are crutches laying on the ground and a food basket in front of some hungry people. I believe that part of the story also shows how much God loves us. The Story of Jesus is a little hard back and cardboard page book. It has 20 pages that would be great for ages 0-5. What I love about this book is how easy it is for your child to carry it around. There is a red handle on the side. They can be like Mommy and Daddy carrying their Bible in their Bible covers. So cute! You can purchase this book

TEAMWORK - HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH ebook review

Image
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. This will be my last Hugo Review. With this being said that makes me a little sad. My family has truly loved all the Hugo books. As a mom I have definitely liked the books due to the morals in them. With 6 kids in the house teamwork is one we work on all the time. We are constantly telling the kids to work together to get things done. Hugo and Seedo see a huge storm coming. Hugo say's "let's get to shore and build a place to be safe". When they get to the island Hugo realizes they can't do this alone so has Seedo blow his trumpet. When he does Sumo comes to help. They find they need more and more help. Everytime Seedo blows his trumpet more friends come and help. When the storm finally came all the friends were safe inside. All the sudden the friends hut disappeared and in it's place was a strong castle. All the friends cooperated in order to get things done. TEAMWORK! Cooperation means I
