Count My Blessings 123

Image
Every night my youngest daughter says her prayers with Daddy. She goes through the list of all her siblings and her niece. This book shows little ones how to say thanks. There is a page that says "Thank you, as I get dressed, for which sweater would be best"! I love that it shows children to be thankful for even the clothes that they wear. Hopefully, we as parents, have taught this to our children. God gives us so much to be thankful for, everyday. Each of these pages has a 3D page on the left, that fits into the "indention" on the other page. With our youngest being sensory seeking, this is perfect for her. She gets to feel the pages not just read them. As you can see from the pic she loves this book! Tommy Nelson provides us a way, in books, to show our children about God's love. You can purchase this cute little board book for $7.06 from Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Count-Blessings-1-2-3-Thomas-Nelson/dp/0718037871/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1

Adult Coloring Books

Image
I always thought that I was alone in the whole "I still love to color" world. I am totally wrong. In 2013 coloring books topped bestselling charts. They sold more than 1.5 million copies in over 22 languages. 5 of the top 30 titles on the bestseller list were coloring books for adults. For my 18th birthday, my aunt sent me a coloring book and a Crayola caddy filled with crayons. I was ecstatic! I love a new box of Crayola crayons or a brand new package of colored pencils. Don't get me wrong, I can't draw anything, but love to sit down and just color. Looking at the page with just a simple drawing and imagining what it would look like when I get done with it. All the different colors to choose from. Skyhorse Publishing's first 4 adult coloring books sold out of 4 printings. Unlike most coloring books, Skyhorse's books have 16 pages of full color inspirational pages. Each of the coloring pages are perforated. This allowing budding artists to photocopy an

I Love You Even When Book Review

Image
I have gotten to write reviews on quite a few kids books. I love how most of the books have such cute animals and other graphics. I know that my kids have loved these books. They have brought about some interesting conversations. Another book written by this lady is I Love You All The Same. We have 1 adopted daughter and even though we do not treat her any different nor does she get treated like she is different, this might be good for when she is old enough to understand. We have lots of friends that are foster parents and or adoptive parents. Each child understands things differently. This book shows that no matter what....blonde, red headed, skinny, chunky, tall, short, white, black or purple, you are all the same. God loves you no matter what! Also "God loves you even when you both are quite the sticky mess". 1 of the little bears smears honey on one of the other bears. That is a good lesson on the love of God and of your parents. Just because we ground you or discipli

Early Readers Bible Book Review

Image
The cover is my favorite part. When you hold it one way the kids heads are looking one way and then when you hold it the other way the kids are looking another way. This is the NKJV, New King James Version. Inside the front pages there is a How To Be Saved page which points out the "Roman Road" and more on how to become a Christian. Then the next page is a decision record. The next page is the Certificate of Baptism. Then a page for your favorite Bible verses and church events. Inside there is a One Year Plan to read the Bible in a year. This a great one to get your child used to studying the Bible. I can't believe how many neat items this Bible comes with. What is the Bible? Who wrote the Bible? How to study the Bible. Being that Bibles are usually daunting to children due to the amount of pages and no pictures, they don't read them. But This Early Reader Bible is the perfect one for your child ages 7-12. This book has pictures. Give your child, or an

Inspired Baby Names From Around The World Book Review

Image
With all the hype from the Royal family finally naming their daughter to movie stars and their unique baby names, it's a lot of work coming up with a name. Each child will be stuck with that name for the rest of their lives. My husband and I took months to come up with names for our children. I do not like my name, never have. For awhile, in high school I went by my middle name. I loved that. We knew that a name is very important. So many ways to help you come up with a name. Asking friends and family. Hearing a name in a store, that just catches your fancy. Your favorite movie star. Any of those way are great. But when all else fails....turn to a book. I loved looking through baby name books. I was able to find the meaning of the name. So many variations of each name. We have 6 children and only 1 is spelled the "normal" way. But his name isn't one you hear everyday so I was ok with it. We loved the name Marissa but my mother in law kept telling us she was

Every ten seconds, a child abuse report is filed. Every year, more than a thousand lives are lost as the result of child abuse. By extension, many thousands more are forever changed. Valerie’s story describes her sad, scared, and angry feelings and traces her journey from her sudden removal from

God Bless My Boo Boo Book Review

Image
This book is so adorable! The last 3 books that I have reviewed have has so super cute animal families. My kids have had their share of boo boo's. Between cuts, scrapes, stitches, staples and surgeries. Every time we pray over their boo boo's, BIG or small. My kids have prayers said over them so much that when I have a migraine or am sick, 1 or more of the kids will come up and ask if they can pray for me. Thank you God for blessing and healing our boo boo's. The rhymes were my youngest favorite part. I read it to her in the sing song way. She just kept smiling and smiling! Clear and beautiful illustrations to add to the book You can purchase this book from Amazon.com for $7.79 http://www.amazon.com/God-Bless-My-Boo/dp/0718030516/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1430511084&sr=1-1&keywords=god+bless+my+boo+boo You can check out Tommy Nelson website and social media accounts at: Check out all their other great books at https://www.facebook.c

Precious Moments God Watches Over Me Book Review

Image
My 18 year old daughter collects Precious Moments. When she found out that she was pregnant, I thought this would be the best book for her to read to her little one. She was so excited when it came in the mail. One look at the hard back board book and she was in love with it. Each page is filled with the adorable child like Precious Moments characters. Kids love rhyming books. This book follows you through the day and shows how God watches over you. He is there when you get up, He is there when you go to bed. God never leaves. The scripture verses are such that little kids can understand them. That is very important when trying to get little ones to understand the Bible. Old Fashioned Book Review

Image
Great book! Refreshing change from some of the story content out in books these days. Meet dashing Clay and follow him on his journey to change from his old ways. He seems to want to change from his juvenile ways and become a upstanding man. Then meet Amber, the free spirit who moves in above his antique shop. At first, she isn't so sure about Clay. Watch as they both learn to change and trust other people. This book definitely takes time for you to get to know each character. I did not realize that this was made from a movie. I am going to have to hunt it down to see if they followed along or wrote a lot of new stuff. I love how it was written. I love getting to know my characters so this was perfectly written for me. You can purchase this book through Amazon for $11.65 http://www.amazon.com/Old-Fashioned-Rene-Gutteridge/dp/1414379331/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1427299131&sr=1-1&keywords=old+fashioned If you are looking for a good clean read wi

All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes Book Review

Image
Kat is a baker who normally bakes with the simple vanilla and chocolate, safe recipes. Her guy friend Lucas feels that it is time for her to step "out of the box" and start making different items. He then enters Kat into a baking contest. If she wins she will not only get to work at a prestigious bakery, she will have to go to New York. Lucas wants her to win, but doesn't want to her to move, as he is falling in love with her. It is a decent book but I think it could have been so much better. These 2 characters complain a lot and not a lot of monologue. I would have rather had them talk to each other, date and fall in love. It was hard to follow the characters to the end. I think this writer has a lot of potential. I will look out for her next book. You can purchase this book from Amazon for $10.23 on paperback http://www.amazon.com/Alls-Fair-Cupcakes-Betsy-Amant/dp/031033845X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1423164628&sr=1-1&keywords=all+is+fair+in+

Berenstain Bears and The Biggest Brag Book Review

Image
Super cute book filled with a great lesson to learn. We have 6 kids, so learning lessons is a daily accomplishment in our house. The little ones haven't really learned what happens to others feeling when you brag. They still run around "mommy got me a cake pop today". While the other littles are like "why didn't I get a cake pop". It's hard. But the Berenstain Bears are here to help. Just follow as Brother and Sister Bear learn this very important lesson. Looking for great kids books with a Christian base, these are the books for you. Grandpa shows the bears that God gives us many talents but there is not any need for bragging about it. About the Author Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents, Stan and Jan, working together to write and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. I grew up reading the Berenstain Bears and learned many of their lessons. At the end of each book there is a section tha

Zazzle Gifts Review

Image
Zazzle was such a fun website to find. The products are so cute. While looking through the site, I kept thinking of different people that each product would be purchased for. My 14 year old daughter loves mustache items. If you have someone on your list who likes mustaches, you should check out their selection. http://www.zazzle.com/mustache+gifts You can also personalize each product. This specific mug that I picked for her, says "Victorea mustache you a question". How cute is that? I was able to personalize by color of mug and by what to say. There are quite a few different types of mugs to choose from: Classic White (which is the one I chose), Ringer, Two-tone, Morphing (black mug that turns white while hot liquid is inside), Stein, Travel Commuter Mug or the Frosted Glass Mug. I loved all the options that Zazzle gave me. I'm a picky person. I didn't just have to choose from one product and one color. I got to choose! This specific mustache mug, even p

Price Of Privilege Book 3 in Price of Privilege Series

Image
Ok I wasn't so sure about this book. I wasn't informed that it was the 3rd book in the series. I would love to read the 2 previous books in the series to find out how we got to this point. The cover is beautiful and the story is well written.... This little piece of historical romance will have you glued until the end. You want to be in the story with these characters. They really come off the page and into your life. I think I would have been a lot better of a read with the previous 2 books knowledge. Julia has had a time. You wanted to walk through the halls of those beautifully described mansions. Dance in the halls. If you love historical romance with a bit of excitement then this is the book to get. You can purchase this book through Amazon.com for $12.86 in paperback http://www.amazon.com/Price-Privilege-Book-ebook/dp/B00LPQOJZU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1419810067&sr=8-2&keywords=price+of+privilege I was sent this book to read and post my honest r

The Duck Commanders Hardback Bible Review

Image
This is the nicest put together Bible and "devo" book I have seen out. The hardback cover is very well put together! When we received this Bible, my son came and said this was now his Bible. At 16, I figured that this would be a great one for him. I love what these Duck Commanders follow as their core values: faith, family, fellowship, forgiveness, and freedom. You can't go wrong teaching these values to your kids! All throughout this Bible there are stories from Phil, the Robertson family patriarch, and his son Al, a pastor with more than 22 years of experience. Even if you don't read the Bible itself it is nice to read these wonderful little pieces. Features include: •Full text of the New King James Version Bible •A personal welcome note from Phil and Al Robertson •125 articles on the top 24 most-searched topics on Bible Gateway •Life application and scripture references supplement each article •30 days of life-changing testimonials •Topical index and re
